 Meet the Chef

Executive Chef
Rick Lindeboom

Rick Lindeboom is an Ohio native and has lived in the greater Columbus area all his life. He grew up surrounded by the restaurant industry with a family-owned restaurant called Peasant on the Lane. Rick worked for his father for nearly 8 years as dishwasher and line cook, but it wasn't until after graduating from high school that his love for the industry and true potential were realized. Soon he worked his way up into a management position as a Sous Chef.

Rick worked as a Sous Chef for two years; honing his management style, perfecting his culinary skills and gaining from the experience of his father and the talented chefs around him. After an unfortunate ice storm in the early nineties the restaurant closed forcing Rick to seek out a position in a new company.

Cameron's American Bistro, the original Cameron Mitchell Restaurant, welcomed him into a company with a familiar feeling of family. Rick started as a line cook and soon recognized he had found a company that shared his passion. Cameron Mitchell Restaurants opened new doors for him to develop as a manager. He was promoted to Sous Chef and eventually became Executive Chef at this location. As Cameron Mitchell Restaurants began to grow and expand their concepts, Rick grew right along with them.

In these years Rick's hard work and diligence were acknowledged with the opportunity to open two restaurants as an Executive Chef; Cap City Diner in Gahanna, and Martini Italian Bistro in Polaris. Other responsibilities included serving as Executive Chef for Molly Woo's Asian Bistro and also for Martini Italian Bistro Downtown.

Working within these varying concepts allowed Rick to expand his culinary knowledge and experiment with new dishes. After the successful opening of Martini Italian Bistro at Polaris, Rick was quoted saying, "We created these delicious new entrees just for this location. We wanted to show our guests that they can experience the fabulous tastes of Italy without ever leaving the neighborhood." This dedication to genuine hospitality & creative passion helped create the opportunity to become part of the team to develop the Rusty Bucket Corner Tavern concept.

When Rick joined the Rusty Bucket team as Corporate Executive Chef he spent his first year familiarizing himself with every aspect of the concept and opening three new restaurant locations. Rick now oversees all the operations in the kitchen, or what is endearingly referred to as the "Heart of the House" in this company. He also takes the lead on the continued development of new and innovative menu items to keep The Rusty Bucket Corner Tavern fresh and exciting. There is no doubt we will continue to see great things from Rick as The Rusty Bucket Corner Tavern continues to grow.
